Chapter 3:  Moral Monogamy

monogamy  1. the practice or state of being married to only one person at a time  2. Rare the practice of marrying only once during life  3. Zool. the practice of having only one mate

morality  the character of being in accord with the principles or standards of right conduct; right conduct; sometimes, specif., virtue in sexual conduct

moral monogamy  1. relating to, dealing with, or capable of making the distinction between right and wrong in conduct related to sexual partnerships  2. the promise to refrain from having sex outside a partnership with the guarantee of coming clean within twenty-four hours if one does

friendship  the state of being friends; two people who are there for each other, either often or periodically, to have fun with and to provide support during the best moments as well as the most challenging ones

lover-ship  the state of being lovers; two people who are there for each other, either often or periodically, to have sex with and even to provide for romance

two categories  the state of being friends only or lovers only, but not both simultaneously; a system which specifically captures the lack of interest or even fear of having sex with someone who is just a friend or of being a no-sexual-encounter-secrets friend with a current lover

friendship foundation  people associations viewed in two levels rather than two categories; when friendship serves as the foundation for a significant association, with any forged sexual partnership on top of it, whether one time or over a period of time

two levels  the state of being friends as a foundation and possibly lovers on top of it; a system built on respect for one’s partner by reinforcing a no-sexual-encounter-secrets friendship with a current lover

polyamory  the practice, state or ability of having more than one sexual loving partnership at the same time, with the full knowledge and consent of all partners involved

partnership status  a leading edge status classification system for identifying if one is sexually available or not at the moment; consists of four universally recognized categories: single, honestly non-monogamous, dishonestly monogamous and honestly monogamous, with the latter the only status where one is not sexually available at the moment

single  one of four categories within the partnership status classification system; applicable for people who do not currently have any sex partners they speak to on a daily or near daily basis; recognizes the absolute freedom to have sex with anyone who is willing to do so, without the need to account for one’s time to any others

honestly non-monogamous  one of four categories within the partnership status classification system; applicable for people who are currently on a speak daily or near daily basis with someone they are having sex, all while refraining from having any current third-party sexual encounter secrets; naturally recognizes some level of accountability as to where they are, whom they are with, and what they are doing

dishonestly monogamous  one of four categories within the partnership status classification system; applicable for people who are currently on a speak daily or near daily basis with someone they are having sex, all while keeping current third-party sexual encounter secrets; naturally recognizes the lack of full accountability as to where they are, whom they are with, and what they are doing

honestly monogamous  one of four categories within the partnership status classification system; applicable for people who are currently on a speak daily or near daily basis with someone they are having sex, all while refraining from having any sexual encounters with a third-party; naturally recognizes the full accountability as to where they are, whom they are with, and what they are doing
